About Carson
Drawing from his education at KoSa and Berklee College of Music, Carson has over 17 years of real-world drumming experience. These experiences have ranged from performing with a polka band in tiny restaurants to playing with Red Oblivion on gigantic stages around the world.
Carson began playing drums at 10 years old. After elementary and middle school, he attended DeMatha Catholic High School to study with Dr. Michael Gatti. While at DeMatha, he also studied intensely with Chip Clemmer (U.S. Air Force Band). Later in his high school career, he attended KoSa three years in a row where he gained knowledge from Giovanni Hidalgo, Dom Famularo, Flo Mounier, Mike Mangini, Kenny Aronoff, Vera Figueiredo, Greg Bissonette, John Riley, Antonio Sanchez, Jim Chapin, and Dafnis Prieto. He quickly climbed through the ranks at DeMatha, and was accepted to Berklee College of Music. There he went on study privately with Rod Morgenstein, Mike Mangini, Dave DiCenso, and Dave Weigert.
During college, he became known as the metal drummer who specialized in playing with rock cello players. This led to being one of the founding members of Red Oblivion. Red Oblivion went on to play 5 Lollapalooza festivals, South by Southwest, Vive Latino, and many cities in Spain.
Now Carson has decided to focus on a teaching career. This has led to the creation of Green Forest Drumming (Groenewold=Green forest). Please contact him directly via email at the top of the page if you are interested in lessons.
