Why you should study with me

Most drum teachers give you a bunch of exercises and do not give you any context. A lot of times drummers forget that we are musicians first, and drummers second. There will be a lot of exercises when you study with me, but there will always be musical context that you can translate to playing with a band or a group. If you study with me, you will never have trouble coming up with ideas to play. I can also offer you a well-rounded percussion-focused education that is needed to succeed in today’s music industry climate. Gone are the days when drummers can show up, play the gig/session, get paid, and go home. Now we have to be our own engineers, business people, and promoters, in addition to being extremely proficient in a physically demanding instrument.
